Description

The Old Farmhouse at Stebbing Farm, along with The Dairy and The Tudor House at Stebbing Farm, is a late 15th-century building, extensively altered since its original construction. Documentary evidence confirms the building's date. The timber frame is concealed by colourwashed plaster externally, with tiled roofs. The house is arranged as one storey and attics, featuring sash windows. There are two 19th-century wings in pale yellow brick. The interior contains a late medieval hall, originally two bays in size, with a lofty crown post roof. A single bay extends to two storeys in the service end of the house. A solar end may have existed, but it was likely lost with the 19th-century parlour addition. An early 17th-century first floor and chimney were added, and one bay may have been floored earlier.
