Description
Beech House is a house built around 1818, with a matching east extension added in 1938. The building is constructed of stucco on brick, designed to resemble ashlar, and features a hipped steep slate roof. Originally, it was a symmetrical two-storey house with three windows facing south and a central entrance, along with a uniform one-window two-storey east extension. The windows are recessed sash types with six-over-six panes and margin lights. There are rusticated vermiculated keystones above the front openings. The round-headed doorway is framed in two orders and has a radial fanlight above it, leading to a six-panel moulded door with fielded panels. The house has a chamfered plinth painted black and a wide painted soffit over the eaves. The end-wall chimneys are topped with square buff terracotta chimney pots, and there is a narrow window above the door that matches the width of the doorway.
