Description
This is a range of two barns and an adjoining stable located 25 metres southeast of Sleapshyde farmhouse. The barns date from the late 17th century, while the stable was added in the 19th century, creating an L-shaped plan. The structure features a timber frame with weatherboarding and a red brick base, while the northern gable end has corrugated iron walls. The larger barn to the north may be slightly older and consists of three bays, with a deeply projecting cart entrance at the northern end on the west side and a deeply jettied gable. The southern barn also has three bays and a central projecting cart entrance on the east side, along with a later lean-to addition on the south. Both barns are topped with queen strut roofs. The stable, positioned at right angles to the southern end, is weatherboarded and has a pantile roof.
