Description
Rose Cottage and Little Rose Cottage are a pair of houses built in a single long range, likely as adjoining units, dating from the late 17th century. There is an early 20th-century extension to Rose Cottage. The buildings are constructed with a timber frame and feature weatherboarding, topped with a plain tile roof. They are two storeys high, with the earlier part showcasing a large central chimney stack that has two tall square shafts that meet at their corbelled upper courses. The houses have three assorted casement windows; the two left first-floor windows appear to be late 17th-century casements, while the others are 19th or 20th-century wood glazing bar casements, except for a cast iron casement located to the left of the door to Little Rose Cottage. The 20th-century extension matches the original details.
