Description
This is an aisled barn located at Maynes Farm, 30 metres northwest of the new farmhouse. It dates from the 16th century or earlier and features a 20th-century machine tile roof that is half hipped at the ends. The exterior is clad in weatherboarding and includes a gabled projection on the centre of the northwest side. The barn consists of five timber frame bays, and its aisled construction is nearly intact. The principal beams have passing braces connecting the wall posts to the tie beams, with horizontal ties crossing from the wall posts to the principals. The tie beams are supported by long curved braces. However, in the northwest aisle, two passing braces on the west side are missing. All construction above the wall plates is from the 20th century.
