Description
Maynes Farmhouse, which includes garden walls enclosing the garden to the east of the house, is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It was refronted in the early to mid-19th century when the axis of the house was changed. The building is constructed of red brick, with the 17th-century section facing the farmyard featuring some flint. It has a plain tile roof. The south front from the 19th century has three recessed sash windows with gauged brick lintels, with the center window having previously been a door. The west elevation showcases the front of the earlier house, where the taller section on the right includes a floor band and an early to mid-19th-century recessed sash window. Adjacent to this is a door with a chamfered stone surround that has a 4-centre arch. To the left of the door, there are 17th-century long-and-short quoins. The first floor features two 20th-century casement windows. To the front left of the house, there is a one-meter stretch of late 17th-century red brick wall, which continues along the front of the garden as a 19th-century wall with cast iron railings. This wall encloses the garden to the east of the house.
