Description
Great Revel End Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is partly exposed, with red brick infill and roughcast. The roof is covered with plain tiles and the building has two storeys.
At the center of the roof is a chimney stack with three joined shafts, and there is a separate square shaft at the rear. To the right of the chimney stack, there are three bays, and near the left end, there is a similar stack, indicating that the original range likely had at least six bays.
The front of the farmhouse includes six 19th-century glazing bar casements on the first floor. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays from the 19th or 20th century and a 19th-century gabled porch. The door in the porch is flanked by casements. To the left, there is a rear extension from the 17th or 18th century, constructed of red brick with some exposed timber frame near the house.
