Description
The Dairy, located 30 metres northwest of the Coach House and Stable Court at Childwick Bury, is a building from the late 19th century, constructed for Sir John Blundell Maple. It features a picturesque style with red brick walls and an almost continuous timbered loggia beneath a machine tile roof. The structure consists of three linked units and is a single-storey narrow range. An octagonal pavilion is situated to the northwest, topped with a leaded wood lantern. To the southeast, there are two square blocks, each with a door and two narrow windows. All openings are framed with roll-moulded brick surrounds, and the building has continuous bracketed wooden eaves. The loggia is supported by baluster-shaped columns, and the windows are fitted with patterned leaded casements.
