Description

The Abbey Mills comprise two late 18th-century silk mills, with this description relating to the western block. The building has a long side facing the road, and is three storeys high with an attic, featuring six windows. It is constructed of dark red brick with a slate roof of moderate pitch. The windows are 3-light casements set under segmental brick arches, which incorporate three bricks. The three-bay east return displays a first-floor iron bridge connecting it to the eastern block. The Abbey Mills, alongside Abbey Mill House, form a group.
