Description
Nos. 95 and 97 form a late 16th century house of two storeys and an attic, originally with four windows. The front was completely refaced in the late 18th century using red brick with random blue headers, featuring a brick cornice band and parapet. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with three dormers. The first-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set in near-flush box frames, with arched brick surrounds. There are three shops dating from around 1900 on the ground floor. Gabled extensions, reminiscent of the original 16th century design, extend to the rear. The interior retains exposed beams and heavy plank floorboards.
No. 99 is a 17th century house of two storeys and an attic, originally with two windows. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof with two modern, square dormers and a modern brick facade. Reproduction sash windows with glazing bars are present on the first floor, and a modern shop occupies the ground floor.
Nos. 101 and 101A are an 18th century house of two storeys and an attic, originally with four windows. It has a slate, mansard roof with two square-headed dormers and a red brick facade with a brick parapet. The first-floor windows have been replaced with sash windows, set within stucco-lined reveals, and feature arched, shallow segmental brick surrounds. Two modern shops are located on the ground floor.
