Description
Nos. 44 and 46 Holywell Hill are a pair of houses, No. 44 dating largely from the 17th century and No. 46 from the late 16th or early 17th century, both of which have been altered. No. 44 is a two-storey and attic house with two windows. It has a large, tiled, gabled dormer window in a renewed, high-pitched tiled roof. The first floor is roughcast, with old first-floor windows blocked and replaced with two small, single-light openings. The ground floor features a later 19th-century shop front. No. 46 is a two-storey house with two windows, notable for its very high-pitched tiled roof with eaves cornices. The first-floor windows are modern sash windows with glazing bars, and the ground floor has a modern shop front. The buildings form a group with Nos. 36 to 58 (even).
