Description
Wellington House is a house from the early 19th century, constructed with roughcast on brick, and features timber frame walling inside. It has a slate hipped roof behind a parapet and stands two storeys tall with an attic over a cellar. The front of the house has two-storeyed bow windows on either side of a narrow central bay. The entrance features an arch-headed doorway with a three-light fanlight above it. There is an arched stair window above the doorway, which has a glazing bar casement. The bow windows were originally three windows each, but the right one has been extended with a square addition from the late 19th century. The left bow has three ground floor French casements and two-light casements on the upper floor. The upper windows on both sides include rectangular top lights, with four of them still having their original segmental-shaped panes. The west elevation has a shallow pedimented centre, featuring a ground floor Venetian window and a first floor therm window. There are two large chimney stacks with battered bases. Inside, the house retains its central staircase.
