Description
29 Norton Way North is a two-storey house built in 1906 by architect M H Baillie-Scott. This building is representative of the architect's finest small houses and is noted for its picturesque design. The house features a central gable that is flanked by a deeply-swept roof and a stack in the gable wall. It has hipped tile roofs and tall, multi-form brick stacks. The central gable showcases exposed studwork and painted brick flogging, while the walls are roughcast. The windows are mullioned casement types with leaded lights. At the rear, there is a 7-light dormer window and a 6-light window on the ground floor. The front entrance includes a Tudor-style doorway with a 4-centred arch and double boarded doors, along with a porch at the rear. Inside, the house features an inglenook and a braced-truss that divides the open-plan living space, along with good quality joinery and ironmongery.
