Description

Field Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid 17th century, situated on Church Farm Lane in Rushden. It was incorrectly shown on Ordnance Survey maps as Treacle Lane. The house is timber-framed and rendered, with a thatched roof. It has four bays and a lobby entry plan, and stands one storey high with an attic. The exterior is largely pargetted with a diamond pattern. The entrance is located to the left of the centre, with a plank door flanked by two small-paned flush frame casements. The right-hand bay features a single-light casement. Two dormers, each with two lights, are set into the roof over the two right-hand bays. A ridge stack has a rebuilt cap. The roof is half-hipped to the left end, where there are also two-light casements.
