Description
Old Thatches is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It has a timber frame and is covered with weatherboarding, topped by a thatched roof. The building is arranged in a square plan with three bays by three bays and stands two storeys high. The central gabled porch is flanked by a mix of one and two-light casement windows, along with a small horizontal sliding sash window on the first floor. The roof features deep eaves and has an almost pyramidal hipped shape, with a rebuilt central ridge stack. To the left, there is a catslide roof over a lean-to outshut, and the left return has a horizontal sliding sash window on the first floor at the rear. On the right return, the ground floor includes a rendered lean-to addition with a horizontal sliding sash window, while the first floor features one leaded casement and two horizontal sliding sash windows.
