Description

Fox Farm House is a house built around 1800, with extensions added in the 20th century. It is constructed from clay lump, mainly using chalk, and is stuccoed with red brick dressings. The house features a steeply pitched tiled roof and has a symmetrical three-bay lobby entry plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic.

The central entrance includes a recessed six-panelled door, framed by a doorcase with a panelled lintel and jambs, and supported by brackets beneath a flat leaded hood. The outer bays are fitted with tripartite horizontal sliding sashes that are recessed and have gauged brick flat arched heads, all set within full-height red brick strips. Above the entrance, there is a small traceried elliptical false window on the first floor, framed in red brick, along with a red brick framing around the doorcase. The front stucco is rusticated to imitate ashlar blocks, and there is a brick plinth and strips at the return angles.

The house has a central cross axial ridge stack and plain rendered returns. On the left side, there is a ground floor 12-pane flush frame sash and an attic light. The right end features an entrance to a ground floor conservatory outshut, with two-light casements on the first floor and attic. The rear angles have red brick strips, and there are 20th-century additions to the rear and left.
