Description
This is a dovecote, now used as a garage, located about 40 metres south-southwest of Sandon Bury. It dates from the late 17th century and is constructed of red brick with a corrugated roof. The building is square in shape and features a plinth. The side facing away from the road has a door with a blocked upper segmental brick arch and a stepped plat band above it. The opposite side has a plat band that steps up over a blocked vertical oval opening. The shallow pitched gable ends also have plat bands that step up over blocked vertical oval openings. The end of the building away from the house has been altered to include inserted double doors. Inside, there are brick cotes with ledges that remain intact on one side but are broken on three sides.
