Description
Lavender Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, which was renovated in the 1970s. It features a timber frame with roughcast exterior, while the ground floor is cased in red brick laid in Flemish bond. The cottage has steep red tile roofs with a bellcast eaves on the main range, and the northern slope of the northern crosswing extends over a side outshut. This 1 1/2-storey house is set back from the road and faces east. The entrance is located in the 1 1/2-storey northern crosswing. The higher main range includes an internal south gable chimney and a flat-topped bow window. The eastern front has a gabled porch leading to a six-panel fielded door, with the top two panels glazed. There is a flush box sash window on the upper floor with five over ten panes, along with one window to the right of the door and another in the outshut.
