Description
Castle Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with a south extension added in 1950. It features a timber frame with plastered brick infill panels and a steep old red tile roof. The house is 1½ storeys high and has a three-cell layout with an internal chimney and a lobby-entry plan, facing west with the north gable facing the road, along with an added south bay. A large cross-shaped chimney stack is located a third of the way from the north end. The west front has three gabled dormer windows at the eaves, flush casement windows, and a 20th-century gabled entrance porch. The house consists of four bays of timber framing.
