House. C16 or earlier jettied crosswing in middle with small part of late medieval hall extending to N. Late C17 wing added at S with extension on its E end c.1954. N part of hall range a C20 extension. Timber frame exposed on jettied upper part of crosswing to E and W with red brick infill. Ground floor plastered. S wing has plastered panels between studs with ground floor of painted brick. Steep old red tile roofs, hipped on S wing. An irregular 2-storeys house facing W. Entrance in middle under jetty of oldest part which unusually has a similar jetty to rear. Casement windows renewed. Bull-nosed joists and brackets to jetties. Interior has exposed framework, one hollow-chamfered jamb and 4-centred-head of one of the twin service doors on the N side of the crosswing formerly giving onto the screens passage showing that this was a service-end crosswing to lower hall extending to N now only fragmentary, with a large internal kitchen chimney inserted. The S wing of 2-storeys has one room on each floor, jowled posts, and large chimney at its junction with the crosswing to N. It has 2 windows looking southward over the now enclosed and built-over green. One window extension to E. (RCHM Typescript).
