Description
Dancers Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1820 to 1830, with a possible earlier core, and extended and altered in the later 19th century. The house is constructed of stuccoed brick, with a hipped slate roof and an L-shaped plan. The front elevation has two storeys and three windows. The central entrance features a six-panelled door with a semi-circular fanlight within a smooth, rusticated surround, topped with a keystone and cornice. There are two tall glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor and three square glazing bar sashes on the first floor. The house has a plinth and deep eaves. On the left return is a first-floor Diocletian window above a ground-floor extension. A central ridge stack is present on the return wing. The right return features three bays, with a central ground-floor semi-circular bow window containing three tall sashes, flanked by two more. The first floor has a central Diocletian window with flanking square casements. Two cross-axial ridge stacks are present. A quarter-circle projection is found in the re-entrant angle of the L shape. The interior was not inspected.
