Description
The Coach House and Stables at Reveley Lodge, built in the late 19th century, is constructed of brick and features multi-pane sash and casement windows. It has a shallow hipped roof covered with slates. Notable cast-iron stable fittings were made by Young & Co. in Manchester.
The stables are located at the north end and include a stable door flanked by high small pane casements on the ground floor, which are topped with shallow segmental heads. The first floor has 8/8 small pane sashes. Inside, there are three stalls and one higher isolation stall, each fitted with dividers made of cast-iron shaped railings over half-height board dividers, which terminate in cast-iron newel posts capped with cushion and ball mouldings. Each stall is equipped with cast-iron troughs, mangers, and water basins. The walls are lined with glazed brick tiles, and the floor is sloped with moulded ceramic tiles in the stalls, a yellow brick drainage channel, and yellow bricks arranged in a herringbone pattern in the aisle.
The coach house is situated at the south end and features three pairs of wide, tall doors on the ground floor, with small pane casements above. The building is listed for its group value with Reveley Lodge.
