Description
Netherton House is a mid-19th century house located in Widford village. Built after the 1839 Tithe Map, it features red brick construction and a hipped slate roof. The house is designed in a 'Regency' style, with overhanging eaves and a rounded southwest corner that includes curved arches and two windows. The symmetrical front has three recessed sash windows with segmental gauged arches and six-over-six panes. There is a four-panel half-glazed door topped with a flat bracketed hood. To the right side, there is one window and a similar blind recess above. The house has a double fronted, double pile plan with chimneys located on the mid-wall. Unfortunately, obtrusive pointing detracts from its appearance. This historic red brick house is part of a varied group within the Conservation Area, contributing to its group value.
