Description
The former stables, located about 25 meters southeast of The Old Rectory, date from the late 17th century or early 18th century and are now used as a workshop and storage. The building features an exposed timber frame with red brick infill and some weatherboarding, topped by a steeply pitched tiled roof. It consists of three bays. The front facing the road has a brick ground floor and a first floor with boarding. The left gable end showcases exposed small panel framing with thin scantling, a mid rail with upper tension braces, a cambered tie beam, and struts to collar clasping purlins. The ground floor includes a plank door and a single light small pane casement, while the first floor has a two-light window with a diagonal mullion. The right gable end is entirely boarded. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over a boarded and rendered lean-to from the right bay, featuring central double doors and a ground floor with boarding. The first floor has two loft doors, exposed framing with a tension brace, and a two-light window with a diagonal mullion.
