Description

The stone coffin located on an island in the lake at Rowney Priory, approximately 120 meters southeast of the house, dates back to the medieval period. It is made of stone and takes the form of a rectangular monolith, featuring an apaturve shaped like a wrapped figure carved from the top. The coffin measures about 2 meters in length but is broken into two parts. It is positioned at the foot of a tree on a small island. The coffin was excavated in the 19th century and was rediscovered around 1952.
