Description
Appletree Cottage is a house built in the early to mid 18th century, consisting of two separate builds. It is constructed of red brick with burnt headers and features a tiled roof. The house has three bays and is double depth, with each range built separately.
On the ground floor, there is a central entrance with a half-glazed door set within a 20th-century doorcase. Flanking the entrance are three-light small pane recessed casements with segmental heads. The first floor has a pattern of three, two, and three light similar casements that extend up to the eaves level. The left end has an internal stack, while there is a later extruded stack on the right end.
The rear range is likely the earlier of the two, slightly broader, and has similar window features. The ground floor includes central French windows with flanking three-light casements, while the first floor has a configuration of three, one, and three casements. There are internal end stacks and a pantiled outshut on the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
