Description
These are two cottages, originally a single house, dating to the late 17th century. The house was likely largely rebuilt and converted into two dwellings around 1800, with further alterations made in the 20th century. The cottages are timber-framed and have a weatherboard exterior, with a steeply pitched tiled roof. They comprise four rooms arranged in a lobby-entry plan. The cottages are two storeys high, with an attic space.
The central portion features two doors with glazed upper panels, each protected by a hood board. Most windows are 20th-century flush frame casements; four are on the ground floor, and two on the first floor. The weatherboarding projects slightly over the ground floor, and the eaves are close to the roof. A central ridge stack has a 17th-century base with a renewed 19th-century brick capping. The right gable end has small-paned casements with hood boards. The left gable end has small-paned casements on the first floor and in the attic.
The rear elevation has doors at each end, alongside a variety of casements, including one with leaded lights and one with a small-pane metal frame.
