Description

The farmhouse at Potters Hall Farm is a house dating back to the 17th century, with an early 19th-century extension to the rear. It is a timber-framed building, with the front walls now renewed in plastered brickwork. The rear wing and the first floor at the south end are weatherboarded. The roof of the main range is steeply pitched, now slated, while the rear wing has a slate roof with an internal gable chimney.

The original house is a two-story, central-chimney lobby-entry plan building facing west, with attics above. It has a symmetrical west front featuring two windows on each floor and a central door. The windows are flush box sashes with 8/8 panes, with a small hood over the ground floor windows. The front door is set within a heavy, moulded surround with a flat hood and entablature. A 6/6 sash window illuminates the gable, and there is one sash window on each of the first and ground floors. The rear wing is two stories high. C19 casement windows are located at the rear, with one above and two below.

Inside, there are axial ceiling beams. The ground floor windows were renewed in 1983. Paired brackets support the front eaves overhang. A staircase is situated in the angle between the wings.
