Description

The Shambles is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame on a stucco plinth and is roughcast, topped with a steep thatched roof that extends over the rear. The building is two storeys high with an outshut and has a tiled rear wing. It has a near symmetrical façade facing north, with two windows and an internal gable chimney on the west side, along with a central front door. The first floor has three-light flush casement windows with external shutters, while the ground floor features three-light bracketed oriel windows with hipped tile roofs. A red brick chimney is also present. The house is mentioned in documents from 1746 and is included for its group value.
