Description
Hall House Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber frame set on a red brick base, with the front stuccoed and the sides roughcast, complemented by a dark weatherboard apron and an east gable. The west gable is plastered and designed to resemble ashlar stone. The building has steep old red tile roofs, including a half-hipped rear wing.
This 1½-storey house has a three-cell layout with an internal chimney and a lobby entry, facing north. It includes a single-flue red brick chimney located a third of the way from the east end, aligned with the front door. At the rear, there is a plastered and tiled lean-to with a weatherboard apron, as well as a tiled and plastered extension at the southwest.
The front of the house has three windows, along with a gabled dormer at the eaves. The windows are two-light flush Yorkshire sliding casements. The entrance features a six-panel door, which includes two glazed panels, two moulded panels, and two flush bead panels, all beneath a flat hood supported by shaped brackets.
