Description
The summerhouse at Walkern Hall, located 120 meters to the south of the hall, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick and features a steep octagonal conical roof made of old red tiles with an eaves overhang. The structure has four buff terra-cotta columns on three open sides, creating a small octagonal garden building that faces south and has a paved floor. The columns are designed in a barley sugar twist style, topped with Corinthian capitals, and the lower part is adorned with strapwork that includes naturalistic birds in high relief. The bases of the columns are deeply moulded. Additionally, the outside columns display a monogram "L D R" on a shield. Inside, there is a fine horseshoe-shaped wooden bench that features a lattice back, carved brackets, and leaf-trail pierced decoration.
