Description
91 and 93 Fore Street is a house that has been converted into shops with offices above. It dates from the 18th century and was refronted in the 19th century, with a 20th-century shopfront. The building features stucco over brickwork and has a Welsh slated roof with panelled eaves supported by shallow brackets and stuccoed chimneys.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a four-bay front. On the first floor, there are four nearly flush-set 12-pane sash windows, with a plat band at the second-floor level. The second floor has four 6-pane sash windows. The ground floor includes a full-width shopfront with large plate glass display windows and a fascia with a moulded cornice. The central doorway features recessed double-leaf glazed doors beneath a semicircular fanlight with an architrave surround. The outer doorway is flanked by Tuscan antae that support a central pediment. The rear of the building has been altered, extended, and refenestrated.
Inside, there is a central hall and a staircase leading to the upper floors, both of which have been extensively refurbished and opened out.
