Description
No. 3 Station Road is a small two-storey house dating from the 18th century. It has a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with the south front covered in rough plaster. The roof is made of old red tiles and features a gabled design that extends as a catslide over the rear service rooms. There is a large internal gable chimney made of red brick on the eastern side. The house has two windows, which are 19th-century flush sashes with three panes each. The entrance features a 19th-century small pilastered doorcase with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. The windows are positioned towards the west to allow space for a large fireplace at the eastern end. This house is a good example of a small 18th-century dwelling. Historical maps from Drury and Andrews show that this side of the road was developed with detached houses by 1766.
