Description
Coltsfoot is an early 19th-century house. It is timber-framed with a black stuccoed sill and roughcast exterior, covered by a low-pitched slate roof with overhanging verges and box eaves facing east. The house is double-pile, extending over two storeys and a cellar, beneath a single-pitched roof. Two red brick chimneys are located on the mid-wall.
The front façade is symmetrical, featuring three windows. These are flush box sash windows with dripboards, moulded frames, and 8/8 panes. A six-panel raised and fielded door, with a reeded surround and corner blocks, is centrally placed. A dripboard is supported by brackets across the north end of the first floor. Two Yorkshire sliding casements are located above, and two matching sashes at ground floor level. French doors are positioned on the south end. A staircase in the rear part of the house also serves the cellar. Original doors and joinery are simple, and include moulded plank doors. The house contains four rooms on each floor. It is described as a pretty, picturesque farmhouse.
