Description

Blackhall is a 16th-century cottage featuring an exposed close-studded timber frame with plaster infill and a plain tiled, half-hipped roof. The building has two storeys and three bays, with the first floor jettied at the northern end. It includes modern hardwood casement windows with leaded lights. At the southern end, there is a modern brick chimney stack and an inglenook fireplace, along with a smaller modern central chimney stack. A 20th-century rear wing has decorative plaster panels and weatherboarding, topped with a plain tiled half-hipped roof and three dormers. The interior has been heavily restored using sympathetic materials.
