Description
The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a northern extension added in the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features steep old red tile roofs. The original section of the house has a two-cell plan and faces east, with a lobby entrance next to a large internal chimney on the northern gable. There is also a later external chimney on the southern gable. The one-cell lower northern extension has its own internal chimney stack on the northern gable. The building is two storeys high, with three windows on each floor, and a small blocked chamfered window located above the main door. The windows are three-light wooden casements with segmental arches on the ground floor. There is a separate door leading into the southern part of the house, and a blocked doorway into the northern part, indicating a 19th-century subdivision. The Cottage was formerly known as Little Dassels Farm.
