Description

The Brick Barn, Cart Shed, and Granary located to the north of Upwick Hall date from the 19th century. The barn is constructed of brick and slate, is one storey high, and consists of seven bays featuring diaper pattern brickwork. It has a board double door in a full-height opening, with part of the barn used as a staff residence. The complex also includes a late timber-framed cart shed and granary. Another brick and slate barn, previously situated to the west, is dated and initialled 1868, CS. The western building has a stone tablet in the south gable, is one storey high, and features nine bays with a 3:5:3 arrangement of brick columns in relief on the main flank walls, along with arched recesses. It has two sets of double vertically panelled timber doors in full-height openings.
