Description
The North Barn at Manor Farm, located 30 meters to the northwest of the house, is a barn dating from the early 17th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and stands on a brick plinth. The barn has a steep half-hipped roof made of corrugated iron. A lean-to structure rises over the door on the north side. This tall, five-bay single-aisle barn faces north and has double doors in the middle bay on each side. Notable architectural details include heavy jowled posts, long curved braces connecting to the tie-beams and arcade plates, and an inclined queen-post roof with collar and clasped purlins at two levels. The walls are supported by straight tension bracing, and there is a face-halved bladed scarf joint in the wall-plate above the post.
