Description

The granary at Chalks Farm, located on the south side of the entrance to the yard, dates from the early to mid-19th century. This substantial and picturesque structure is one and a half storeys tall, featuring a gambrel roof that is tiled. The gable walls are made of brick up to the eaves level. The western side is open, supported by lateral brick piers that hold up the weatherboarded side wall and the grain floor. The eastern side facing the yard is timber-framed and weatherboarded, resting on a high brick plinth. This granary is a key building within the farmyard group.
