Description

Berkhamsted School Chapel was built in 1894-1895 by Charles Henry Rew in the Tudor style. The exterior is made of red brick with stone dressings. Inside, there is a tall, steep flight of steps leading to the sanctuary, which is said to be inspired by the design of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Venice. The chapel features a vestry located beneath the sanctuary and shallow transepts on either side of the steps. It is part of a group that includes the Berkhamsted School Old Building and the New Hall.
