Description
A house, now divided into two separate residences, built in the early 19th century, with later 19th-century additions. The original central section has three bays, with wings added to the north and south, and a porch on the left-hand side of the house (No. 69(b)). The property was divided into two dwellings around 1950. It is constructed of grey brick with buff brick arches, and has a stucco string course at first-floor window sill level, along with an eaves cornice featuring a blocking course. The brickwork of No. 69(a) has been painted. The roof is hipped, with a taller red tile roof over the south wing.
The house has a double-pile plan and faces south with a 2:3:2 window arrangement on the first floor. It features recessed sash windows with 6/6 panes, each set within a flat-gauged arch. A central round-headed doorway sits within a round arched recess, and similar recesses frame square-headed windows on either side of the centre. Projecting bays are located at each end; No. 69(b) has a Venetian window, and No. 69(a) features a canted tiled bay. Louvred shutters are present on No. 69(b), along with a later porch. The building is included on the list primarily for its contribution to the surrounding group of buildings.
