Description
The walls of the walled garden at The Golden Parsonage, located 100 meters to the northeast of the house, date from the 16th or early 17th century and are constructed of narrow red brick in English bond for the lower part. The upper part is made of red brick in Flemish bond from the 18th century. The enclosure is trapezoidal, with walls approximately 3 meters high and measuring about 60 meters by 45 meters. Access is provided by a small gateway located off-centre on the south side. The wall is 13.5 inches thick at the gate and features a chamfered scarcement on the outside, positioned 1 meter from the top of the wall. The outer surface of the wall is finished in Flemish bond brickwork.
