Description
Nos 47 and 49 High Street is a 16th-century timber-framed building located in Hoddesdon. It consists of two bays with an additional half bay extending to the south. The exterior is roughcast with an old tile roof and the building stands two and a half storeys tall. On the first floor, there are three square windows featuring moulded architrave surrounds and mid-19th century sash windows. The north gable end has an imitation half-timbered design, which includes three three-light leaded casements and a rectangular inscription panel with a moulded surround. Inside, there are well-preserved ceiling beams on the north ground floor and curved braces on the first floor interior north wall of No 49.
