Description

The front wall and wrought iron arch at the Parish Church of St Augustine in Hoddesdon were likely constructed between 1856 and 1857 by J Clarke. The structure features a flint wall with stone dressings and a cement coping. It has cusped, gabled gate piers and wooden gates adorned with ornamental iron bars. Above the gates is a large, ogee-shaped wrought iron lamp arch, which is spiralled and decorated with scrolls. This feature is included for its group value.
