Description
Nos 97 and 99 on High Road in Broxbourne are late 17th century to early 18th century timber-framed buildings that were altered in the early 19th century. The exterior features modern pargetted cement and roughcast, with an old tile roof that is hipped on the north side. The buildings are two storeys high and have five widely spaced windows, along with three boxed dormers. The windows have moulded cornices, and some retain 6/6-pane sashes. Number 99 has a door surround with fluted Doric half-columns and a bracketed cornice, while number 97 features a bracketed door hood and a single-storey extension from the 19th or 20th century with a machine tile roof.
