Description

The Golden Lion Inn is a building likely dating from the 16th century, featuring a timber frame that has been altered over time. The ground floor is plastered, while the upper floor is roughcast, topped with an old tile roof. The north gable end is weatherboarded. The four-window street elevation juts out over the north ground floor, which includes a canted sash window bay. There are two early to mid-19th century doors with flat hoods supported by double consoles; the central doors are double and half-glazed. A moulded floor band runs along the south side. On the first floor, there is a 6/6-pane sash window. Inside, the northern two bays have chamfered floor beams, while the southern bay is a later addition.
