Description

This barn, located 30 metres north-west of Elmdon Lodge, dates from the late 18th century, with a date inscribed on an arcade post reading 1761. It features a timber frame and is clad in black weatherboarding. The roof is gabled and covered with corrugated iron, with a hipped midstrey at the centre of the south side. The barn consists of three bays and includes jowled posts and straight arcade braces. It is a very late example of the traditional aisled barn format.
