Outbuilding. c1500, connected to E side of St Aylotts house (qv) by early C20 passageway. Timber-framed, rendered, on C19 red brick base, peg-tiled gabled roof. Square plan. 2 storeys. N elevation: ground floor, double casement window with glazing bars, 4x2 panes. E elevation: blank, with weatherboarded lean-to, slate roofed with small C19 stack and fixed 2-light window. S elevation: blank, link passage to house has simple mono-pitched slate roof, 3-light casement and C20 plain door. INTERIOR: ground floor, heavy timber framing, recesses for internal corner bracing similar to house. Ceiling inserted with joists of early C17 type, lamb's tongue chamfer stops. Original use unknown but used as brewhouse in living memory. Position so close to front of house in front of hall and solar rooms precludes original use as a kitchen or hunting standing.
