Description

Lucas Farm House is a house of two wings dating to the early and mid 16th century. It is constructed with exposed timber framing and features a long wall jetty and a rear jetty to the north wing, along with jowls to some storey posts. The house has a roughly L-shaped plan, which includes a 16th-century enclosed porch. There are various leaded casements throughout, some of which retain original mullions. The roofs are hipped and covered in plain red tiles, with gablets. A 20th-century main door has lights, and two original doors remain. Two original attached square shaft red brick chimney stacks and one external rectangular chimney stack are present. The house stands on a moated site, where fragmentary remains can be seen. It is considered to be a building of very good quality.
