Description
Brook Farm Cottages, formerly known as Hole Farm, is a house and crosswing that has been converted into three cottages. The crosswing dates from the 15th century or earlier, while the main range was built in the early 17th century. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear and to the left. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. It is two stories high and features two prominent gables on the main range. The front has a three-window arrangement with 20th-century quarter paned casements, and there is a 20th-century casement in the left extension. The property has three 20th-century cottage doors with upper lights, each adorned with small flat canopies and brackets. A notable feature is the off-center red brick concertina chimney stack, which sits on a square base and has a moulded capping, alongside a rectangular stack on the left extension. The crosswing jetties out at the rear.
